- Set Quantity from 1 to 100.

Passphrases use the EFF Large Wordlist by the Electronic Frontier Foundation, licensed under CC BY 3.0. Storing passwords in a database? Never use MD5 — hash them with bcrypt or Argon2.
FAQ
Is it safe to generate passwords online?
This tool generates passwords in your browser and does not send or store them. Only your settings are saved locally; analytics events contain the tool slug, not your password. Copy does not automatically clear your clipboard.
How does the random password generator work?
It uses crypto.getRandomValues, the browser's cryptographically secure random generator, to select characters, words and digits. If your browser does not support it, the tool generates nothing and asks you to update your browser.
Where do the passphrase words come from?
Words are selected independently from the EFF Large Wordlist of 7,776 English words. The list loads from the site the first time you choose Passphrase, so that first use needs an internet connection.
What do bits of entropy and time to crack mean?
Entropy, shown in bits, measures how many equally likely results your settings can produce; each extra bit doubles that number. Time to crack assumes an offline attack at 10 billion guesses per second, so it is an estimate, not a guarantee.
Why is my password shorter than the Length I selected?
With No repeated characters enabled, the password cannot be longer than the number of unique characters available. Turn it off or enable more character types to allow a longer password.
