    FAQ

What do the five fields of a cron expression mean?

From left to right: minute (0–59), hour (0–23), day of month (1–31), month (1–12 or JAN–DEC) and day of week (0–7 or SUN–SAT). Both 0 and 7 mean Sunday. Fields accept *, numbers, comma-separated lists, ranges such as 1-5 and steps such as */15.

Does this generator support Quartz cron or expressions with seconds?

It accepts standard five-field Unix cron only, with no seconds or year field. Six- and seven-field expressions and scheduler-specific symbols such as ?, L, W, # and H are rejected.

What happens when both day of month and day of week are set?

When neither field is exactly *, the preview uses OR: either field can match. Linux cron handles a day field starting with * but not equal to *, such as */2, differently when the other day field is restricted; the tool warns you and suggests an explicit range.

Which time zone are the next run times in?

The next five runs are shown in UTC, strictly after the current time. There is no time-zone selector or local-time display.

Does this tool schedule or run my cron job?

It only parses the expression and calculates run times in your browser; it does not schedule or execute commands. Your last expression and open builder panel are saved in this browser’s localStorage and restored on your next visit.
