FAQ

How do I know if a timestamp is in seconds or milliseconds?

Auto counts the digits before the decimal point: up to 11 means seconds, 12–14 means milliseconds, 15–17 means microseconds, and 18 or more means nanoseconds. If you know the source unit, use that instead of relying on detection.

Can I convert microsecond and nanosecond timestamps?

Long integer values are read with BigInt so they are not rounded before conversion. The displayed date has millisecond precision; sub-millisecond parts are dropped.

Can I get the day of the year from a Unix timestamp?

The Day of year / ISO week row shows both values, such as 318 / W46. They are calculated in your selected time zone.

Why isn't a date like 01/02/2024 accepted?

The converter does not guess whether that means January 2 or February 1. Use an ISO date such as 2024-01-02 to make the order explicit.

Are my timestamps uploaded or saved?

Conversion runs in your browser, and inputs are not saved. Only your time zone, unit, and clock options are saved locally; site analytics events do not include your timestamps or dates.
