FAQ
Which barcode formats are supported?
The tool supports Code 128 and EAN-13, not UPC-A. Code 128 accepts up to 80 printable ASCII characters, including letters, numbers, spaces and punctuation.
Does the EAN-13 generator calculate the check digit?
Enter 12 digits to add the check digit automatically, or 13 digits to verify it. If the last digit is wrong, the tool tells you which digit is expected.
Can I create an EAN-13 number for my retail product?
Retail EAN-13 numbers are assigned by GS1. This tool draws the barcode; it does not assign or register a product number.
Should I use SVG or PNG for printing?
SVG keeps the bars as a vector path, so it can be resized without losing sharpness. PNG is a raster image, and PNG scale (1× to 4×) multiplies its pixel dimensions. Test-scan a printed barcode before using it.
Is my barcode value uploaded or saved?
The barcode is created in your browser, and the Value field is neither uploaded nor saved. Your option settings (Format, Show text, Bar height, Module width, Margin and PNG scale) are stored in localStorage. Site analytics records usage events without the barcode value.
