FAQ
Can I view page source on Android or iPhone?
You can use this tool in your phone's browser. Our server fetches the page, so your browser does not need to support view-source:.
Why is the source different from what I see in DevTools?
This tool shows the HTML returned before JavaScript runs. The Elements panel in DevTools shows the live DOM, including changes made by scripts.
Does choosing Googlebot show exactly what Google sees?
The tool sends a Googlebot smartphone User-Agent, but that does not make the request come from Google. Sites can verify Googlebot by IP address and may return different content to our server.
Why can't I view the source of some websites?
Only public HTTP and HTTPS URLs on ports 80 and 443 can be fetched. Requests do not include login cookies, and private network addresses or sites that block automated requests cannot be loaded.
Is the URL or page source stored?
Your URL and User-Agent choice are sent to our server, but fetched page content is not cached or stored there. IP-based rate-limit counters are kept temporarily; if fetch logging is enabled, logs include the target host and an IP hash, not the full URL or page body.
