FAQ
Why don't I see both IPv4 and IPv6?
The page shows whichever address your browser used to connect: IPv4 or IPv6. It does not separately test the other protocol, so the other line in Copy all says “Not detected”. That does not mean your connection lacks it.
Why is my IP location wrong?
IP location is approximate and usually points to your internet provider's city or region, not your street address. VPNs and mobile networks can make the location appear in another city or country.
Does this show my private IP address?
On the public site, you see the address your browser used to reach the server, not a lookup of your device's private network address. If you open the page over a private network during local development, a private address may appear without location or ISP details.
Can this tell me whether my VPN is working?
You can compare the displayed IP and country before and after connecting, but this page cannot confirm that a VPN is working. A browser and IP time-zone mismatch is only a hint, not proof of a VPN or proxy.
Do you store my IP address?
The server necessarily receives your IP to show it to you, and a rate-limit counter tied to your IP is kept for about a minute. The IP endpoints do not cache results or write routine per-request IP log lines. We can't state how long the web server's own access logs are kept.
