Privacy Policy
AllRight Tools has no accounts or sign-up. This page explains what happens to the data you enter and what the site records about your visit.
Tools that run in your browser
Most tools process your text and files in your browser. What you enter and the results are not sent to our server. Some tools download reference data from our site, such as the emoji list or the MAC address database. These requests do not contain your input.
Data stored in your browser
- Most tools remember their options in your browser's local storage. Word Counter, Online HTML Editor, Markdown Viewer & Editor and Table Formatter also keep your text there as a draft until you clear it.
- Your choice of light or dark theme is stored there too.
- When you pass a result from one tool to another, the text goes through your browser's session storage and is deleted as soon as the next page reads it.
- Share links in Diff Checker and Regex Tester contain your text in the link itself, after the # sign. The text is compressed, not encrypted, so anyone with the link can read it. Browsers do not send this part of a link to our server.
To remove all of this, clear the site data for allrighttools.com in your browser settings.
Tools that use our server
These tools need our server to run a check. Each one sends only what is listed here:
- What Is My IP: nothing you type. The server reads your IP address from the connection, finds its approximate location and network in a database stored on our server, and looks up the reverse DNS host name.
- WHOIS Lookup: the domain name. The server requests registration data from the registry and the registrar.
- DNS Lookup: the domain name or IP address and the record type. The query goes through our own DNS resolver.
- SSL Checker: the host name. The server connects to it on port 443 and reads the certificate.
- Website Status Checker: the URL. The server requests it and reports the response.
- View Page Source and Link Extractor (when you enter a URL): the URL and request settings such as the user agent. The server downloads the page and passes it to your browser.
Websites, registries and DNS servers see these requests coming from our server, not from your IP address.
What our server keeps
- Public results for a short time: WHOIS data for up to 6 hours (1 hour for unregistered domains), SSL results for 5 minutes and website status results for 30 seconds. Page sources and IP lookups are not cached.
- Rate-limit counters that count requests per IP address and per checked host. They expire after one minute or one day.
- Server logs. Our web server records each request with your IP address, the time, the requested address, the referring page and the browser user agent. For WHOIS, DNS and SSL checks the requested address includes the domain. Diagnostic records about checks store the checked domain and a daily-changing hash of your IP address instead of the address itself. Logs are deleted after 14 days.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to count page views and see which tools are used. Your browser sends Google the page address and events such as running a tool, copying or downloading a result, or loading an example. Events carry the tool name and, for some events, a setting such as the download format or the approximate length of a search. They never contain the text, files, URLs or domains you enter.
Google Analytics sets its own cookies (_ga and _ga_…) to tell visits apart. Read how Google uses data from sites that use its services. Yandex Metrica sets its own cookies too (see below); AllRight Tools sets no others.
We also use Yandex Metrica to count visits and see where visitors click. It receives the page address, technical details of your browser and your clicks, and sets its own cookies (_ym_…). The text, files, URLs and domains you enter are never sent to it. Read the Yandex Metrica terms.
Other services your browser contacts
- Responsive YouTube Embed Generator: the preview loads the video thumbnail and player from YouTube.
- HTML Viewer, Online HTML Editor, HTML Cleaner and Markdown Viewer & Editor: images and other resources in your code load from their original addresses, and those servers see your IP address. HTML Viewer can block them.
- Meta Tag Generator: the social media preview loads the image from the URL you entered.
- Social media search tools: when you click Search, your browser opens the search engine you chose with your query. That search engine's privacy policy applies.
