How to use
- Click Paste to load CSV or TSV from your clipboard, or Upload to choose a file.
- Uncheck First row is header if your data has no header row.
- Choose the JSON structure you need in Output.
- Inputs over 1 MB are not converted live. Click Convert or press Ctrl+Enter (Cmd+Enter on Mac). Smaller inputs convert automatically.
- Click Copy to copy the result, or Download to save it.

Which CSV delimiters are supported?
Delimiter set to Auto detects commas, semicolons, tabs or pipes from the first 10 non-empty rows, respecting quoted fields. For another separator, select Custom… and enter one character in Custom delimiter; quotes and line breaks are not allowed.
How do I convert an Excel file to JSON?
Save your worksheet as CSV first; .xlsx and .xls files cannot be read directly. Uploaded files must be 50 MB or smaller.
Can I convert CSV columns into nested JSON?
Set Nested keys to From “.” (user.name) or From “/” (user/name) to build nested objects from header paths. Conflicting headers such as a and a.b, or paths with empty segments such as a..b, stay flat.
What happens if a CSV row has missing fields or broken quotes?
Missing fields become empty values, and extra fields get keys such as column_3, with line-numbered warnings. An unclosed quoted field clears the output and shows an Invalid CSV error pointing to the opening quote.
Is my CSV uploaded or saved?
Conversion runs in your browser, and the tool does not upload or save your CSV. Option settings are saved locally; sending the result to another JSON tool temporarily stores the JSON in sessionStorage until that page reads it. Analytics events contain the tool slug, not your CSV or JSON.
